Bucky

WE GOT A PUPPY!! Her name is Starbuck but we call her Bucky.  She is 4 months old and is an Australian Cattle Dog mix. She is 23 pounds and we got her at a no kill shelter.

We have been taking care of a lab for some friends for a few days and we realized how much we miss having a dog since Alex died last February.  Derek, Will and Nate have been excellent with Scout and so we started the search.. actually Mike has been looking at dogs on the web for a month.

I had D all prepped about looking at dogs and meeting one but not getting one today.  So imagine my surprise when 2 hours later we have brought a dog home.  We had a great visit with her at the shelter and Mike did some work with her to see about intelligence and discipline. We had no red flags and we all enjoyed her.  They don't hold dogs for you so here she is at our house!  Scout had done a great job settling her in.  Bucky slept on the floor in the car on the way home like a true champ.  She played out back and got to know the yard. Now she is taking a nap on the floor.  Mike is running around to stores to get all the supplies we need.

Welcome to our family Bucky!

More zoo train

We took Alli to the zoo and rode the zoo train again.  it was our first trip to the zoo without a stroller.  Will and Nate ended up being carried a ton because they get a bit nervous in new surrounding but they enjoyed strolling for parts.  D was excited to see the penguins again.  The pregnant elephant at the zoo has certainly sparked interested questions from D and funny pretend play.  Sandy (santopino the monkey) just had triplet girls that D spent a ton of time preparing from.  His ideas of pregnancy and child care are good for lots of laughs.  Will and Nate are also train lovers so we are playing with lots of choo-choos.  We are enjoying the sun finally!

Lots of attention

We will have lots of family in June and July. Mike's parents came for 3 weeekends in June, my mom and dad were here for 2 weeks in July, and Alli is here for 3 weeks, the boys are getting lots of attention and love.  Simple things like being carried in sleeping bag boxes are great fun.   Auntie Alli is a reading machine and Daddy is a great horse for all.  The boys are getting lots of love.

More Newport

Other highlights at the coast were the fun park, devil's punchbowl, and the tide pools.  The boys all enjoyed their new fishing poles and "fishing" in a bucket.  Lots of books were read and it was a great escape.

Oregon Coast aquarium

Another highlight of the coast getaway was the Oregon Coast Aquarium.  D has been talking about going back all year.  They had a fantastic new children's exhibit the boys all loved.  Will even put his head in the helmet but Nate wouldn't do it.

Newport part 1

We spent the week of July 4th in Newport again this year.  Geema, Bumpa, and Auntie Alli all flew in to join us.  It was cool on the beach but the boys loved it.  We enjoyed lots of great restuarants, walks, and just relaxing together.

Thank you

Thank you Geema and Bumpa for all your help. The boys loved the zoo train and fun outings before we went to Newport as well as all the play time.  D used the pressure washer to help Bumpa clean the driveway.  Bumpa cleaned my car and Geema did lots of small projects to help me.  I got lots of naps in.  Thank you!
