Here comes Santa

We went to nearby Sherwood Saturday to watch for Santa. Santa came via helicopter. Derek thought the noise was pretty cool. We thought having Santa fly in was pretty creative. Auntie Alli asked what happens to the reindeer in this case. I think they are just resting up for Christmas. Some of the local merchants bring Santa in including our favorite toy store, Mudpuddles. Of course we went over to Mudpuddles to play. Derek enjoys the metal cookset.. he likes how loud they are when you bang them together. It was a great morning.

Great anniversary evening

We had a great evening out last night. Mike came home early with red roses. I love flowers! We took pictures before we went out. I love the one with MIke's head cut off. He didn't leave enough room for his head. hehe. We had a nice dinner at Claim Jumpers. Derek was great. I had brought him some food but the restaurant also had a complimentary plate of food for him.

We came home, gave Derek a bath and put him to bed. We then had a few hours to ourselves. We played a game, chatted, and just enjoyed our time alone. It was a nice evening as a family and for us as a couple.

More WI pics

I found some pics from WI that I forgot to download from the other camera.

Here is a a pic from the Minneapolis airport where we had a 3 hour layover thanks to Northwest changing our flights. It ended up being fine. We ate dinner while watching a football game, played in the kids area (all of us played), and Mike spent a long time riding the moving walkway with Derek. He loved it. He kept crawling towards it so Mike took him on several "rides."

These are from Cabela's in WI. We had fun playing there in the gun arcade, watching Derek push toys and the cart around, and just having fun with my parents.

It's our anniversary

Mike and I are celebrating our 2nd anniversary today. So much has changed since we met in February 2006. We met, fell in love, got married, and had a baby 3 weeks after our 1st anniversary. Lots of change... and we wouldn't change any of it!

Today I am thankful for the husband provided at the right time (much later than I had wanted). It was worth the wait, Mike is more than I had dreamed about. Mike is a tremendous example to Derek of how to be a husband someday (far far away). Mike is a great provider, cares for me, makes me laugh, makes me think, is gentle with me, is honest, and treats me like a queen. He is also an incredible Daddy. I think watching Mike with Derek deepens my love for him each day.

We are celebrating 2 great years. We are hoping for 50 more.... by caring, talking, touching, listening, and working on our marriage each day. Today I will love him, treat him kindly, and respect the man I love. Tomorrow I will try my best to do the same.

Christmas Tree

We put up our Christmas tree this weekend. Derek is not quite sure what to think of it. So far he has left it alone although the tree is surrounded by a gate to keep him from it.

It is back to a normal week after a great week together. Derek is finally in his crib for a nap. Routine is good!

December is going to be a great month. This month we celebrate our anniversary, Derek's first birthday, and Christmas. I love December!
