Who is this kid?

Derek announced he was going to play a drum and this is what he did. The kiddo keeps us laughing.

2 in the tub!

We decided to bathe Will and Nate together. They each are trying to sit up in the baby bath anyways so we decided to let them both sit up. It was a riot. MIke and I were both definitely needed for 2 wiggly babies. Nate cracked us up. His goal was to grab all the bath toys and chew on them. He even scooted closer to Will to grab a toy by him. Will just smiled the whole time and giggled.

WIl is our mover. The boy can get anywhere fast. I have dug several pieces of dog food out of his mouth in the past 2 days! He is happy and sweet.

Natey can move but slower. He excels in his speech and in his fine motor skills. He too is happy and sweet. We love watching our boys (all 3 of them) grow and develop.

The bead coaster

D was showing his brothers how to use the bead coaster. I forgot about having it but D brought it out. Will is interested in chewing on it. Nate loves it. He is very good at his fine motor skills and loves to manipulate the beads. D taught them a song about how to do it: up up up then down down down (the fuzzy pics shows D singing). Of course it was sung at the top of his lungs. Will and Nate think D is hysterical.

Derek's first pony ride

Derek and I had our Wednesday morning date. We wanted to enjoy the beautiful day so went back to the pumpkin farm. (After a visit to Whole Foods which D asks for every week). This is was our 3rd time there in 3 weeks. Each time I ask him if he wants to ride the pony. The last 2 times he has said no. Yet in typical D fashion, the 3rd time is the charm. It takes D several times to observe something before he is ready to participate. Today was the day for the pony ride. He picked his pony named Amigo and loved the whole thing. It is interesting how his brain works and how he needs to process things first. He is the same way with library time. The first few times he sits in my lap and won't leave it. After a few times going, he is ready to participate and jumps in.

Our Wednesday mornings together have been so special. I love the one-on-one time I have to focus on my boy. I think I have more fun than he does! He is a special little guy. We are enjoying watching his personality unfold and wonder what this boy of ours will be like in 10 years. He is a happy little dude.

Apple picking

Sometimes I get these grand ideas that turn out to be duds. Apple picking is one of those duds. Derek was just too young to get into it. He did, however, love running in the orchard. He also loved the ladders that he wasn't supposed to be on. The day was lovely, Mt. Hood was beautiful in the background, and we all enjoyed the outdoors. We picked apples quickly and then went to Starbucks to warm up.

Derek's favorite part was the next day. During morning nap time for the babies, Derek and I baked. We made an apple pie and apple sauce. Derek loved to peel the apples by using the crank. He was a great helper. We had a blast. So I guess the apple picking wasn't a bust, it looked different than I thought it would. It all worked out.

Nate is a mover too

Nate can get around. He has a very interesting technique- but it works. From a sitting position he moves forward to a crawling position. Then he crawls backwards a few steps. He then pushes back to the sitting position to pivot around and starts the whole process over. We were quite confused because we knew he was moving to a new place but couldn't figure out how he got there. He has got the squirming, pivoting, and backwards thing down. It is really funny to watch.

Derek and Will's great adventure

Derek and Will had a fun morning (Nate was still asleep). WIll is trying to pull up on everything. He can get up to his knees on his own but needs help to stand up straight. He loves to stand. He giggles and is just so proud of himself. He was trying to stand up behind Tigger so we helped him. Then D decided to take Will for a ride on TIgger. Will stayed on Tigger with great balance. He really liked to go by Alex to pet her.
