Arts and Crafts and lots of sickness

Derek is really into arts and crafts lately. Most afternoons, he wants to color, cut, paint, and play with stickers. Will and Nate love to watch while eating a snack. Apparently Daddy's office is going to be covered in art work because most of the time D informs me that this one is for Daddy.

On the bummer side of things, we have all been sick all week. I took the littles to the dr. and discovered that Will had 1 ear infection, Nate had 2, and so did D. I didn't even plan to have the dr. look at D's ears but D asked. The antibiotics are working wonders. We also found out that the boys also had RSV. RSV is the illness we were so scared about one year ago. Last winter Will and Nate had monthly shots to protect them from RSV. Each shot was $1500. Thankfully the boys didn't get it last year. This year it was not too bad- just lots and lots of snot. Wednesday my ear started hurting. I went to the dr. on Thursday and discovered that I had an ear infection (my first as an adult). Thankfully my drugs have kicked in as well and I feel great. So we had lots of arts and crafts time as we were home-bound most of the week!

Chickens update

Our lunch today (yummy 5 guys burgers) certainly was interesting. A snap snap (alligator) came up on our deck and ate all 7 of our chickens. Amazingly, 8 new chickens appeared. I have been informed that they are dark blue. They decided to vacuum and they also do dishes. I think I shall just leave all dishes in the sink from now on and see what happens. If they work, these chickens are welcome to stay. The last batch were very polite and nice as well. Is it bad that I use the chickens as bait for D to have good behavior? Probably so, but it works! We do not have any pictures of the chickens as they do not want to be photographed (maybe they are Amish chickens).

3 in the tub

The day arrived. We put all 3 in the tub together. It was pretty funny. There was lots of laughing and lots of splashing. D has the mug shot look again. It was a big success and Derek requested everybody together again the next night. I believe it will be a nightly event until someone leaves a floater. Will has no fear and was crawling through the water. Nate crawled a bit and splashed a ton. Derek showed them his swimming skills and blowing bubbles (Derek and I are in swim classes this session). Lots of buns and lots of fun.

Big D

Derek had his cut first and showed Will and Nate how it was done. He was feeling a bit icky with a cold but was a trooper. He always enjoys the horsey ride at the end.

Nate's first haircut

Natey was all smiles for his first haircut. He enjoyed steering as well. His hair comes forward. We have never seen him make this face but it is fun!

Will's first haircut!

Will did great for his first haircut. He really liked the car he was in and was using the steering wheel and giggling. I had them sweep his hair to the side so he looks a bit dfferent than Nate.

Fun with Daddy

This weekend was the time to play under the train table with Daddy. Books were read and towers were built out of blocks. Mike was in there with Derek, then along crawled the littles, and Alex came up to to give kisses.

Here is Mike carrying both boys. You will often find us holding both littles like this to get somewhere or with one on each hip. It is so much more productive to just bring both at the same time.
