Mike opened his Father's Day gifts after nap time. Derek has been so excited for Daddy to open the gifts. First Daddy opened the family project. We made Daddy a concrete stepping stone. It was a gift of love (and patience on my part). Derek wanted to help at all points. It was a riot. Derek added a bit too much water- so instead of needing to set for 30 minutes before decorating it needed 90 minutes). Because of the extra water, I discovered a bit too late that we needed to wait. I had already put all the boys handprints down and washed their hands before I discovered they had all mixed back in. Ha... Eventually though we had 3 boys hands and Derek put down the glass. It reads We love Daddy 2010.
Next Mike opened the gift Derek made at school. It is a little dog made of clothes pins that holds a pencil in the mouth. Derek was so proud of it and showed Mike how to use it. So cute!
Despite the rainy weather we had a great afternoon of wrestling, giggling, and a run to Starbucks. Yeah for Daddy!!
And finally a family picture with no one looking the right direction.. but at least all 5 of us are in it!
